Hours:  Each Tuesday the store is open from 11 AM until 5 PM.

Donations of lightly used clothing and household items gratefully accepted.  If possible, please bring them on Tuesdays when we are open.  They may be dropped in the donations alcove.  No furniture please - we do not accept or sell furniture.

Mission Statement

The Cumberland Heights Community Services Center serves to meet the spiritual, physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of the community of the South Cumberland plateau with emphasis on Grundy County.

The Cumberland Heights Thrift Store / Community Services Center is involved in many types of charitable giving. Proceeds from the operations of Cumberland Heights Thrift Store are allocated at the direction of the Cumberland Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church Personal Ministries Committee which includes the Pastor of Cumberland Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church, along with the Director and Treasurer of the Community Services Center.

The Center accepts applications for groups and individuals to receive support. The main areas of financial and charitable giving from the Cumberland Heights Community Services Center include those listed below.

Support for Health and Well-being *

  • Assistance with Utility bills
  • Funeral expenses
  • Addiction recovery programs
  • Home repairs
  • Evangelism programs

Support for Education

  • College education
  • Elementary & Secondary education
  • Adult education including High School equivalent

Clothing and Supplies

  • For families in distress due to fire or other catastrophe
  • For those recently released from jail
  • For foster children or other at risk children

Other needs are addressed on a case-by-case basis.

*Some items such as utilities and funeral expenses are subject to limits for individual gifts and are paid directly to the provider rather than to the individual.
